Would you go on a blind date?

A blind date could lead you to the person of your dream or it could as well turn out to be your worst nightmare. Surprisingly, many people are brave enough  to try it out. Society Magazine’s Rachel Garuka asked a few individuals what they thought about this crazy mission.

A blind date could lead you to the person of your dream or it could as well turn out to be your worst nightmare. Surprisingly, many people are brave enough  to try it out. Society Magazine’s Rachel Garuka asked a few individuals what they thought about this crazy mission.I like making friends with people that I hardly know. I mean blind dates are full of surprises and I like being surprised. In other words, you never know what to expect.Swaib Kibuuka, Operations supervisor Etihad Rail CompanyI would go for a blind date but only out of curiosity about what the girl looks like and what a conversation with her would be like.Anthony Kampikaho, Communications officer, ESkomI don’t think there is anything wrong with blind dates. I would happily go on one if I am not committed at the time. But I understand it is more complicated for women.Richard Obonyo, Managing partner, Ankh Media ProductionsNo I wouldn’t. I am not so good around strangers. I can’t spend time around people I don’t know.Aydee Dumba, Ugandan producer and artisteI would definitely go on a blind date!!! They always go wrong, are so predictable, and it’s always nice to meet a new psycho who gives you a new reason not to go for another.Phionah Kintu, Office administratorIf we have been chatting for a while then yes I would. I don’t want to get there only to be kidnapped!Veronica Tindichebwa, Comedian and actressNo I wouldn’t. I know a lot of beautiful ladies i would happily go on a date with so there’s no need to go with a stranger. Alex Kimenyi Mupende, E-commerce Executive at RwandairYes, I think it is fun because I get to meet someone that doesn’t know me at all and to me it is great to find out who is out there. And it is not time consuming considering the fact that sometimes we spend a lot of time trying to get people to date us.Humphrey Mayanja, Technician

I wouldn’t go on a blind date. The idea of meeting someone for the very first time with the knowledge that the two of you are looking to size each other up to see if you’re ‘compatible’ doesn’t appeal to me. I like the natural order where you fall in love without even knowing that you’re falling but loving every minute of it.Carolyne Nderitu, Karaoke host
