Rwandan entertainment continues to deliver showbiz news like never before.

Amomng them, celebrated comedian and movie actor Kevin Hart visited Rwanda last week and British boy Band NSG announced their performance in Kigali.

The New Times takes a look at the stories that made headlines last week.

Kevin Hart visits Rwanda

Last week, the talk was all about Kevin Hart, an American comedian and movie actor, who was spotted in Rwanda on Wednesday, July 19, at a local fashion house, Haute Baso.

It was Kevin Hart’s first visit to Rwanda and many people including comedians and comedy lovers of Rwanda were thrilled to hear the news that one of the best comedians on earth was in town.

During his stay, he visited Haute Baso, Kultura restaurant located in Kibagabaga and the Kigali Genocide Memorial.

Hart was in Rwanda with his wife Eniko Hart and their kids.

NSG to perform in Kigali

Last week, popular Afrobeats, Afro-Swing, and British Hip-hop group NSG announced that they will soon perform in Rwanda.

The famous crew from East London, composed of six members, will be performing in Kigali as part of their Africa tour that will reach seven countries including Rwanda.

The tour was announced by Mxjib, one of the members of the crew, in a tweet that attracted attention from many Rwanda-based fans of the singing group.

The tour will also reach other East African countries, including Kenya and Uganda.

Rwandan musician Bwiza outs maiden album on her website

After hosting different listening sessions of her first album ‘My Dream’, Bwiza dropped the long awaited album on her personal website.

The album is being sold at Rwf10, 000 before it goes on different major streaming platforms.

Consisted of 11 tracks, ‘My Dream’ features big Rwandan and Burundian artistes such as Chris’s Eazi, Double Jay, Niyo Bosco and many others.

The album will debut on other streaming platforms next month.

DJ Slick’s show in Kigali flops

Uganda’s DJ Slick performed for dozens of people at his recent show that took place last Saturday, July 21, at Mundi Centre.

Dubbed ‘Sama Rave Pare’, the show had a long line-up of big Rwandan deejays including the likes of DJ Toxxyk, DJ Khizzbeats na DJ Ira, but still flopped.

The New Times learnt that the event didn’t attract many people because it was poorly organized and promoted.

Danny Nanone cancels highly anticipated Dubai performance

With tickets sold out, and excitement filling the air, the Danny Nanone’s show in Dubai got cancelled at the last minute.

According to the singer, the Dubai government set new event regulations that meant the event closing is at 2 pm, the time when the event was set to start. The organizers were faced with a difficult decision that weighed the success of the show against potential losses.

"They suggested that we postpone the show until the event hour issues in Dubai are resolved. We came to a mutual agreement to cancel the show temporarily to prevent any significant losses for the organizers," the singer told The New Times.

Hopefully, the rapper will be able to perform in the city in the near future.
