Rwanda’s envoy to India presents his credentials

Rwanda’s High Commissioner to India Ernest Rwamucyo, yesterday presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of India, Shri. Pranab Mukherjee.

Rwanda’s High Commissioner to India Ernest Rwamucyo, yesterday presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of India, Shri. Pranab Mukherjee.The ceremony took place at Rashtrapati Bhavan the official residence of the President.According to a statement received by The New Times, the Indian leader talked about the visit of President Paul Kagame to India in 2009 and the importance of the visit in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries."Shri. Mukherjee underscored that the two countries have very strong bilateral relations and these will be further strengthened during the tenure of the new High Commissioner. He emphasised the need to focus on trade and investment between Rwanda and India,” the statement said.President Shri. Mukherjee also re-affirmed India’s support to India – Africa cooperation framework especially in capacity building and human resources development, Technical and vocational training as well as entrepreneurship.Greater relations The President pointed out that Rwamucyo’s tenure will serve to bring the relations between Rwanda and India to greater heights.On his part, Rwamucyo commended the President for receiving him well and highlighted a number of activities in different sectors going on in line with Rwanda - India bilateral Cooperation arrangements.Rwamucyo emphasised the role of trade and investment, pointing out the positive trend in the growth of Indian investments in Rwanda.He reiterated the importance of projects supported by the Government of India in the India – Africa Cooperation framework and other bilateral arrangements; re-affirming his commitment to work hard during his tenure to further strengthen the already excellent relationship between Rwanda and India. Rwamucyo, who arrived in Delhi in April, says he is keen to enhance further bilateral relations between Rwanda and India, and continue to promote trade and investment.A delegation of about  30 Indian investors have been in Rwanda to explore potential investment opportunities under the platform India - Rwanda Show 2013 touring potential areas where they can invest their money.Rwamucyo, earlier told The New Times that the  "India - Rwanda Show 2013, will go a long way to further strengthen the already strong trade and investment partnership between Rwanda and India.’
