Bizimana brings the music home

They say east or west, home is best. The same can be said of Kenya-based Rwandan musician Belgine Bizimana, who has decided to permanently move back to his home country.

They say east or west, home is best. The same can be said of Kenya-based Rwandan musician Belgine Bizimana, who has decided to permanently move back to his home country.The New Times has learnt that the artiste who has beenplying his trade in Kenya for the last ten years has finally decide dthat it is now time for him to come back home and contribute to the growth of music the industry."I have decided to come back to my country so that I join others in improving our music industry, after such a long time. I believe that my time in Kenya has helped me to grow my music profession,” Bizimana said in an interview with The New Times.The artiste has staged various performances alongside international, regional and local musicians.He has performed in neighbouring Uganda and Kenya as well as in various places in Europe.Bizimana who is well known by his stage name Belgine is mostly known for his singles including "Uko Wapi,” "Zainabo which is a collabo with Elion Victory, "Juu ya Nini and Apana mimi which brought him to fame.The singer vowed to use the experience he acquired in other countries not only to start something back home, but also help bring other young musical talents on board.The 29-year-old said that as he hits the local music scene , he will concentrate on doing secular music. Initially his trade was in gospel music.His first album titled ‘God is number One’, was launched in Nairobi, Kenya in 2010, Bizimana was singing gospel music but he has since turned to doing secular music too.However, he noted that taking on secular music does not mean he has totally given up on gospel music but that he is giving it a try to see if he can fit in other genres, while at the same time widening his capacity and scope.One of his ambitions as he settles back home will be identifying young talents in the music industry through organising concerts where they (young talents) will be given a chance to perform."Come December, I will be launching my second album which will have twelve songs. So far I am already done with the audios and I am going to work on videos,” he said. The second album will have songs like ‘Amaso’, ‘Zainabu’, ‘Vitendo’, ‘Uko wapi’ and ‘Ayisha.’
