AS PRIMUS Guma Guma Superstar season three road shows entered the third week, music fans in Nyanza district and the neighbouring areas were on Saturday treated to electrifying performances from the aspiring contestants.Thousands of excited fans from all ages and all walks of life thronged Nyanza football ground, the venue for the 3rd road show of the Bralirwa-sponsored music competition. They cheered and danced as they sang alongside their favourite contestants as they battled it out for the top prize.Ten of the eleven contestants made it to Nyanza and did their best to enthuse their fans. Mico Prosper did not show up for the Nyanza road show as he was reportedly sick.Afrobeat singer Kamichi, rapper Bull Dogg, Urban Boyz, the self-proclaimed International Hit Senderi, R&B singer and the only female contestant Knowless, Christopher, rappers Riderman, Danny Nanone and Fireman as well as Dream Boys did whatever they can to win the hearts of music revellers.And the public did not disappoint, actively proving their love for their local stars. They responded well to their calls as they ecstatically danced until the event’s emcees announced the end of the road show.The concert lasted for about four and half hours and was all that Nyanza fans expected. The Nyanza road show replaced the one which had been scheduled for Huye after the organiser Bralirwa cut down the number of road shows.The next road show will be on the shores of Lake Kivu in Karongi town, Western province, next weekend. After Karongi it will be Muhanga, Musanze and Rubavu. The competition will then enter the eviction phase, with the last eviction taking place on July 27. The finale is scheduled for August 10 at Amahoro National Stadium in Kigali.
