A cohort of 35 senior Police officers from 10 countries across the continent on July 21 received their post-graduate diplomas in strategic leadership and management during a graduation ceremony that took place at Rwanda National Police College in Musanze District.
This programme was delivered by the African Leadership University (ALU) School of Business.

The officers were from Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Lesotho, Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Rwanda. Throughout the eight-month programme, the officers delved into the fundamentals of leadership and underwent practical training to successfully manage individuals, teams, and organizations across different levels.
The programme was offered as part of the Police Senior Command and Staff Course, running parallel to a Master&039;s in Peace Studies and Conflict Transformation, co-delivered by the University of Rwanda and the Rwanda National Police College.

Among the guests celebrating the graduates' achievement were Nhlanhla Thwala, the Vice Chancellor and Provost of ALU; Lucie Kabatesi, Director of Government Relations and External Affairs at ALU; and Momar Dieng, the Dean of the School of Business at ALU.
Thwala highlighted the significance of the graduation as it marked the second cohort in which ALU was involved.
"This represents a furthering of our partnership with the Rwanda National Police as a whole but particularly the National Police Senior Command Program. It is our hope that the Pan-African relationships forged in the program across the ten countries represented will be retained and even further strengthened," he said.

Veda Sunasse, the CEO of ALU, extended his congratulations to each officer who completed the Post-Graduate programme.
"Their drive to learn new skills in leadership and management will not only enhance their own capabilities as senior officials but will also inspire determination and innovation in the next generation of African leaders. We are incredibly thankful to have delivered this programme in partnership with Rwanda National Police who share our mission of promoting lifelong learning," Sunasse said.
