After a two-weeks break, local golfers are back at Kigali Golf Club to test their prowess in today’s Tembe Open. The amateur tournament which was initially scheduled for last Saturday will have a shot-gun tee-off at 10am.

According to reports from the club, the one-day event which has been bankrolled by Tembe, a maize flour processing plant is expected to attract over forty golfers.

Meanwhile, Rwanda’s professional golfer Emmanuel Ruterana will continue fine tuning his new swing when he takes part in Uganda’s Lugazi Open.

The two-day event which gets under this morning is open to amateurs and professionals, and Ruterana happens to be one of eight professionals drawn in the event that is being played on the nine-hole course. 

Before his departure, Ruterana who is sponsored by BCR, one of Rwanda’s leading banks said that he was pondering a good performance at the open.
