Rwanda (U23) beach volleyball men and women national teams have started training in Rubavu District, Western Province in preparation for the World Championships scheduled for June 6 to 9 in Myslowice, Poland.
Rwanda (U23) beach volleyball men and women national teams have started training in Rubavu District, Western Province in preparation for the World Championships scheduled for June 6 to 9 in Myslowice, Poland.
The women team is comprised of Charlotte Nzayisenga (Ruhango) and Denyse Mutatsimpundu (APR), while the men’s team is made up of Olivier Ntagengwa (National University of Rwanda) and Thierry Mugabo (Lycee de Nyanza).
The team will be under Alexi Mbaraga, who will be helped by national team coach, Paul Bitok. According to an official, the teams will train on Wednesday (yesterday), Thursday (today) and Friday before returning to their clubs for the league matches at the weekend.
After the weekend, the two teams will go back in the training camp in Rubavu on Monday before flying out to Poland on June 4.
Rwanda, Zimbabwe and Egypt will represent Africa in the men category, while Kenya, Rwanda and Zimbabwe represent the women category.
Apart from the beach volleyball teams qualifying for the world championships, the U19 and U21 boys’ teams will competent at the world championships which will be held in Mexico and Turkey respectively later in the year.
