With already four through to the quarter-finals in division two, 16 other clubs go into today’s matches targeting one of four remaining slots.

Muhanga, NUR, La Jeunesse and Musanze have set irrecoverable margins between them and other group teams but this weekend’s fixtures could decide the four others to reach the last eight.

Union, Amagaju, Stella Maris, who are third, fourth and fifth still have a stiff competition for the 3rd and 4th position in group A as all the teams are being separated by just one point.

Union on 28 points hosts NUR, Amagaju (27) are at home against Asport in Gikongoro whereas the fifth placed Stella Maris (26) hosting Mukungwa at Tam-Tam.

While the battle for the remaining two slots in group B is between Intare, Etoil de leste and Zebra, three sides separated by two points.

With two rounds of matches remaining, Intare (25 points) on third position could be the team with best chance as they lead their nearest rival Etoile by two points.

But if they fail to get a something out of today’s visit to an already qualified Musanze, they could be overtaken by either Etoil or Zebra (both on 23), who play each other this afternoon in Bicumbi.
