National University of Rwanda head coach Fidele Nyirimana alias Fidjo believes his side can win the league title this season.

NUR are tied on points with the Institute of Agriculture and Technology of Kibungo (INATEK) going into their meeting in today’s stage five round of matches at the former’s gymnasium. The winner will go two points clear at the top in Group Three.

Eight-times league winners NUR will go into Sunday’s games fresh from beating defending champions APR 3-1 last Sunday to go level with with INATEK at 22 points.

Both sides have lost one match each. INATEK beat NUR 3-0 in the first leg in Ngoma, while INATEK lost 3-0 to Lycee de Nyanza last weekend. Nyirimana, who guided the National University of Rwanda to the inaugural Malaria Volleyball Tournament title early in the season, is also eyeing the league title.

"I am delighted that we won against the defending champions last weekend which gives us the motivation to continue to work hard and hope that we can go on to achieve our target of winning the league title,” he said.

In Group One, APR play St Joseph and former champions Kigali Volleyball Club at Amahoro Indoor Stadium, while in Group Two, Lycee de Nyanza host Christ Roi and Groupe Scolaire de Butare in Nyanza.
