AS Kigali aim for revenge against APR

SundayBugesera FC  vs  AS Muhanga AS Kigali head coach, Andrew Gasambungo wants revenge over the defending champions APR when the two teams meet on Saturday in the semi-final first leg of the Peace Cup against Malaria at Kicukiro ground. APR beat AS Kigali 3-1 in Primus League on 23rd day. The former SEC Academy coach is determined to get his revenge. "This is a good time to revenge because they beat us in the league and we need to win against them this time. I know it will be a tough game but we are ready for the challenge, this is a cup competition where anyone can beat anyone,” Gasambungo told Saturday Sport. He said the game is important for AS Kigali as it gives the best opportunity for the club to win something.  "We know APR are the better side and will come as favourites but that what we need because it puts all the pressure on them.” We have good players and I believe we can match anyone, but as coach, my priority is to try and win against APR. It is going to hard but "we will give it our best shot possible.” "It is the competition where anyone can be beaten and we have seen it this year, where big teams have not reached this stage, so I hope with the commitment we have in camp, we will make a difference,” he explained.However, efforts to get a comment from APR coach Andreas Spier were futile as he could not answer our calls by press time.AS Kigali reached the last four of this year’s Peace Cup against Malaria after a 3-1 win over Musanze. While the holders, APR, qualified with a 2-1 win over Isonga FC.In other semi final on Sunday, AS Muhanga will take on Bugesera, who beat Vision FC to qualify for the semi final with a 5-3 goal aggregate. AS Muhanga defeat Mukura Victory Sports 3-1 in the quarter final.
