Rayon Sports have clinched the 2012-13 Rwanda’s Primus League title, ending a nine-year trophy drought.

The Blues beat Musanze 1-0 at a fully-packed Amahoro National Stadium, sending the crowds into wild jubilations.

Cedric Amissi scored the lone goal which came in second half.

The result saw Rayon maintain a five-point cushion over second-placed Police, who also won their own game away against Amagaju in Nyamagabe.

The new champions have wrapped up the league with a game to spare.

Rayon’s fortunes changed when Nyanza District took them over last year, which saw the country’s most popular team relocate from Kigali back to its ancestral home in the south.
