BRD staff give medical insurance to survivors

Staff of Rwanda Development Bank (BRD), at the weekend, donated to Genocide survivors in Nyarubuye Sector, Kirehe District, as part of the ongoing commemoration activities for the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The staff offered a two-year medical insurance for 100 survivors, two sewing machines to Nyarubuye Sewing Cooperative, a generator and pledged to refurbish the Nyarubuye Genocide Memorial site.The site hosts more than 51,000 remains of victims killed both in the church and in the nun’s hostels."It’s our culture at BRD to participate in the commemoration because we also lost 25 staff members and many clients during the Genocide,” said Emmanuel Karuranga, the senior director of credit administration department in BRD.The staff also visited and interacted with the Genocide survivors."We are grateful to God for the love and support He brings us through people like these ones,” said Theopista Mukanoheri, one of the beneficiaries of the donation.
