Editor,I thank The New Times for honouring our mothers in their last two consecutive issues. You have done a tremendous job in recognising the importance of the mothers (irreplaceable cradle of all humanity) worldwide. Once again, thank you.
Editor,I thank The New Times for honouring our mothers in their last two consecutive issues. You have done a tremendous job in recognising the importance of the mothers (irreplaceable cradle of all humanity) worldwide. Once again, thank you.Congratulations to all the mothers in general, and to mother Maria Yohana, in particular. However, I have kept on wondering why the pictures appearing in the paper (for Mother’s Day) all show girls or women beside their mothers (or female relatives). Is this an indicator that men (sons) are not concerned? Does it mean that it’s only daughters who have time to celebrate with mothers?I hope Mother’s Day should not be seen as a "girl/woman thing” only because gender equality and women empowerment will become a reality only when we, men and boys, work together with our sisters and mothers towards prosperity. Thank you.Clement, Kigali, RwandaReaction to the story, "Maria Yohana is Mother of the Year”, (The New Times, May 14)
