Former Rayon Sport coach Emmanuel Ruremesha has been tipped to lead newly promoted Gicumbi FC in next season’s Primus national league, Times Sport has learnt.Ruremesha, 40, has been working alongside the team’s current head coach Jean Paul Kalisa since he was sacked by Mukura late last year, and according to sources, he has played a key role in securing promotion to the topflight division."I only asked him to join me just for help as he was (jobless) and we were on a mission to see that Gicumbi is promoted to the Primus League"He is a role model for any aspiring young coach, so I asked the (club) management to have him here, and he has really helped us to gain promotion and he could be (the head coach) next season,” Kalisa hinted on Monday.When asked if indeed he was in line to take over as head coach from his ‘friend’, Ruremesha said, "He (Kalisa) is a friend of mine so I came in to help him. Now that the team has been promoted, am ready to take up the challenge if the management entrusts me.”Ruremesha helped Kibuye gain promotion to the national league in 2005-2006 season, since then he has coached different teams including Mukura (twice), Atraco, Rayon Sport and La Jeunesse. "A year of rest is enough. I want to work again at the top level,” states the former Amavubi Stars co-assistant coach alongside Eric Nshimiyimana during the Sellas Teteh’s era.Gicumbi and Esperance defied odds to earn promotion to the Primus National Football League, on the Bugesera and Sunrise FC respectively.Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, Gicumbi edged favourites Bugesera 2-1 in the second leg to qualify on a 2-2 aggregate thanks to the away goal rule.While Esperance ensured their qualification to the topflight division for the first in their history with a 2-1 win to qualify 3-1 on aggregate over the two legs.
