THERE will be no love lost when Didier Gomes da Rosa meets his former assistant Ali Bizimungu in an important national league match between Rayon Sport and AS Muhanga at Amahoro stadium on Sunday.

To the French coach, who took charge of the blues team in November last year, winning today’s match pushes Rayon closer to winning this season’s league title, the first in nine odd years.

"We know that winning the game on Sunday will mean us putting one hand on the title. For us it is a final. Three points will be very crucial to our cause,” Gomes told Sunday Sport yesterday.

"For the past three days, my players have done exceptional training with a high level intensity,” added Gomes, who will be taking charge of his 18th match.

Apart from skipper Aphrodis Hategikimana, who is suspended for today’s clash, the rest of the players are available for selection.

AS Muhanga will miss three key players; Crispin Byimana, Jacques Kimenyi and Eric Yirirwahandi due to suspension.

Head coach Bizimungu will be aiming at winning the crucial game and hopes to revenge for the way he was sacked in January after acting as an interim coach and assistant coach to Gomes.

He said, "I know Rayon Sport very well, having worked for them for a long time. It is going to be a difficult game but I am hoping for a good result by Allah’s grace.”

Bizimungu has guided AS Muhanga to ninth place with 27 points since he took over from Sosteine Habimana at the start of the second round.

Elsewhere, second-placed Police host Espoir at Kicukiro turf, while defending champions APR, who are already out of the title race, take on relegation battling Isonga FC at Stade de Kigali.

Meanwhile, La Jeunesse AS Kigali played out a 2-all draw at Mumena stadium on Saturday. La Jeunesse remain fifth with 36 points, while AS Kigali is sixth with 33 points.
