Captain Pacson.

Captain Pacson is a rapper and veteran radio presenter who recently switched base from City FM to Radio One. He told Moses Opobo about his musical side and what he loves about radio…

Who is Captain Pacson?

A hip hop MC who has been in the rap game since 2003. I have worked with different artists in East Africa like Geez Mabovu, one of the best MCs in Tanzania, and Small Axe, formerly from Leone Island in Uganda.

With your new job at Radio One, do you think you are crossing over into a new level of stardom?

Thanks, yes I do of course. I have a big fanbase who call into my show, and this has made my former boss to call me back at my former job in vain.

Has this new job made you a happier man?

In case of money, I am paid more than what I used to get at City Radio.

What is the part of showbiz life that makes you smile when you are all alone thinking about your lifestyle?

Seeing artistes that I have helped from the bottom now taking it to anther level in terms of money and the way they are living, driving etc …that makes me happy. I feel like a daddy seeing his kids graduating.

What inspired you to start doing music for a living?

I was inspired by my late brother who passed away on 15/1/2012. He made me like music especially hip hop, he used to listen to Tupac and he made me like him to the point of making him my role model.

What would you do differently if you could?

Help the poor.
