What a lousy bunch of neighbours!

Having gotten a nice job, I decided I couldn’t stay in my one roomed windowless ghetto any more. On a rainy day, while others praised God and enjoyed their sleep, I would lay there praying not to get carried away by the wind.

Having gotten a nice job, I decided I couldn’t stay in my one roomed windowless ghetto any more. On a rainy day, while others praised God and enjoyed their sleep, I would lay there praying not to get carried away by the wind. So I left my friends there and shifted to a nice apartment with a self-contained bedroom, dinning, kitchen and store.  Even after moving to this little paradise, happiness was still far away. The neighbours are just too much. They borrow something and keep it for so long that I forget it belongs to me and even borrow it back. After having it too long, they don’t even want to hear me insinuate that it looks like the one I lost.  Seeing as they are quite muscled and being the small guy that I am, I don’t want to get embarrassed.  These guys are too much for me. They don’t even knock when entering someone’s place. One morning last week, I had just prepared my breakfast and was getting done with cleaning the house when these two guys entered. They greeted me and quickly went to the table and made themselves comfortable. Seeing that I was going to have breakfast, I couldn’t leave them out. Sadly, I had to share with them. At times I hear my door bell ring only to find the visitor already in (the answer their own ring). I hear my phone ring and as I rush to take the call, I hear a voice, "that dude isn’t around.” They take my laptop and go watch movies and bring it back dirty with almost no battery. And that was around the time when EWSA was load shedding! One day I was typing my course work and got back to my room to pick something and found my laptop gone. I run to their house and found the door locked. I tried to plead for my laptop telling them I was doing my course work and needed it. This kid got a mouse, right clicked and copied the text then disconnected the mouse and brought it to me and said, "When we return the laptop tomorrow morning, just connect the mouse and paste or go do it at a cafe. I’ve already deleted it here.”
