V.R.Naidu family promises more sponsorship next year

Challengers Cricket Club thrashed a youthful Telugu Cricket Club by 83 runs in the final of the inaugural V.R.NAIDU-RCA T20 CUP 2013. Having the toss, Challengers elected to bat first and posted a massive 184 runs from the allotted 20 overs with a loss of four wickets.

Having the toss, Challengers elected to bat first and posted a massive 184 runs from the allotted 20 overs with a loss of four wickets. Thanks to Sairam Gopal (77 runs) and Praveen Kumar (48 runs) who gave them a very good starting partnership of 120 runs. In response TCC only managed 101 with only Naushed Rajwani being the top scorer with 23 runs. CCC bowlers Samal Subashisi, Rakesh and Srinath Vardhineni troubled the batting side and they got 2 wickets each. Man of the match was Sairam Gopalan for his 77 runs.In the women’s category, the contest was between White Clouds Cricket Club and Queens of Victory Cricket Club. QVCC batted first and posted a score of 115 for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Diane Bimenyimana and Lilian Umuhoza contributed 16 runs and 15 runs respectively for the Queens of Victory. WCCC’s chase was slow after they had an early loss of their star batters Mary Maina and Veronique Iriho for 11 and 19 respectively. However valuable contributions from Joan Mutesi helped them to win the game by 1 wicket. Bimenyimana was named player of the match with 16 runs, 1 wicket and 4 catches.The closing ceremony was graced by the tournament co-sponsors Naidu Family members, who congratulated all teams for participating.
