Nine-time national league champions and Kagame Cup defending champions, APR open their title defence against Tanzanian giants Yanga Africans on July 13 at Dar es Salaam stadium.
According to the fixtures released yesterday by Cecafa Secretary General Nicholas Musonye, Rwanda’s representatives APR and Rayon Sport face crucial opening matches in their respective groups.
The two-week-long tournament will be played at Tanzania’s new main stadium in Dar es Salaam.
The opening match of this year’s championship will between Burundi’s Vital’O against Somalia’s Benadir Telecom and that match will followed by Simba (Tanzania) against Kenya’s Tusker in group A on July 12.
The other group C fixture scheduled for July 13 will be the clash between Zanzibar’s Miembeni and Ethiopia’s Awassa City.
In group B, Djibouti’s SID will open their campaign with Eritrea’s Denden while last year’s losing finalists URA will take on Rwanda’s Rayon Sport on July 14.
The knockout phase will wind up on July 20 with group B fixtures. URA will face SID while Rayon Sport will face Denden.
The quarter-finals are set for July 22-23 with the semi finals due on July 24-25 while the two-week long tournament will climax on July 26.
