Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Volleyball Club are being tipped as one of the two teams that will represent Kenya at the 2013 Genocide memorial tournament which will be held in June in Kigali. The Rwanda volleyball federation has been organising the tournament in remembrance of over 46 of their members including players, coaches, and administrators, who were killed during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The volleyball federation was among the worst affected by the 100-day tragedy that claimed lives of over a million Rwandans.Kenya has been invited to send two teams (one for each gender) and the KVF National Executive Committee will sit next week to determine the teams.KCB tactician Vernon Kisan says the club is in talks with the KVF and they hope to get a positive response."We are looking forward to taking part in the tournament as Kenya’s representatives. We wrote to the Federation early enough; therefore, we are waiting for confirmation,” the coach said this week. The tournament is expected to attract teams from Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Tunisia and hosts Rwanda. Tunisia is also expected to send two teams to spice up the tournament. Last year’s edition was not held due to financial constraints.
