Zambia may not have done very well in the Afcon 2013 in South Africa and also in the 2014 World Cup qualifier game against Lesotho but coach Herve Renard has been ranked 24th in the world and third in Africa.The Institute of Football Coaching Statistics (IFCS) ranking is calculated on a monthly basis from the results of national football matches played in the last 48 months.Coaches earn ranking points in international matches that give points for Fifa’s World Ranking.Renard, who guided Zambia to its first-ever Africa Cup triumph in February 2012, is behind Egypt coach Bob Bradley and Michel Dusuyer of Equatorial Guinea who are first and second respectively in Africa.After receiving the news the French born coach said that his target was to improve every time the team played and in any game they play.Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi, who guided the Super Eagles to this year’s AfCON victory, is fifth in Africa behind former Egypt coach Hassan Shehata who is fourth on the continent. Egypt’s Bradley completes the top best five coaches in the world.Algeria’s Hahid Halilhodzic and Francois Zahoui of Ivory Coast are sixth and seventh respectively while Sami Trabelsi (Tunisia), Alain Giresse (Mali) and Bobby Williamson (Uganda) complete the top 10 list in Africa.Spain coach Vincente Del Bosque is ranked first in the world followed by Germany coach Joachim Low while Bert van Marwijk of Netherlands and Oscar Tabarez of Uruguay are third and fourth respectively.
