I recently read an article about pastor who allegedly defiled a girl. The story said that he was a pastor with Shining Light Church, I have been a way from Kigali and haven’t been updated for a while but I definitely believed that police would summon him.

Unfortunately, when I came back from my trip and inquired for an update I was told that nothing has been done in line with investigating into the matter and that the said pastor is free and continues to harass the young girls and boys.

Whether true or not, the police have the obligation to summon this Pastor Charles Murenzi and interrogate him to find out the truth about the matter and if he is guilt he should be punished.

I am wondering why such serious case is mentioned on such an outstanding public figure and believed to be a custodian of morals and no follow up is made yet petty cases are always followed up.

The girls that were sexually harassed, even though was long time, they must be experiencing some sort of trauma and who knows more negative impact may have resulted.

We would love to hear such cases of human rights abuse reported at CID be followed and culprits held responsible for their acts.

I am not judging him but I love justice to be done, probably the pastor is innocent or the girls are innocent but we can not get it if police remains silent at that.
