Lecturers launch the first series of Rwanda history

Lecturers from the Institute of Legal Practitioners and Development, Nyanza District, Southern Province have launched the first series of the 9 books they were writing.

Lecturers from the Institute of Legal Practitioners and Development, Nyanza District, Southern Province have launched the first series of the 9 books they were writing.This is the first book written by lectures with many series in the history of Rwanda to improve on the reading culture in Rwanda since it is written by a fellow Rwandan. "The book targets different areas of intellectual property protected by the law or rights of property and individual rights which are explored in order to help readers understand the economic issues embedded in intellectual law,” said Dr Francois Xavier Kalinda one of the authors.

He added that the book will create favourable environment for intellectual rights and it will also help lawyers, dealing with business cases including the journalists on to know about the rights and what to report. The book was commissioned to produce asset of manuals written by specialised Rwandan scholars about the legal education and legal practise among the people. "The book offers core knowledge about the basic intellectual property concepts and provides a better understanding to the readers,” said Titein Habumugisha a lecturer at the faculty of law at Kigali Independent University and also one of the authors.

He added that work on the books started way back in 2008 involving a lot of research but it was delayed due to financial problems. The marketing of the first will determine the second and the last. It has 60 pages but the authors are waiting to see whether the sample will be loved.
