A court in Nyanza District has sentenced a National University of Rwanda (NUR) student to life in prison after finding him guilty of killing his mother.
Judge Emmanuel Manirakiza of the High Court chamber in Nyanza ruled that 25-year-old Donat Kubwayo, a third year economics student, was responsible for the death of his mother Anastasie Mukabaruta, 63, on April 19.
The murder occurred in the rural Nkomane Sector, Nyamagabe District in the Southern Province.
