GASABO - The National Post Office will soon upgrade its mail delivery service, according to Director General, Celestin Kayitare.

Kayitare said that they intend to extend the Virtual Private Network (VNP), a facility that connects the headquarters to all postal agencies all over the country.

During a consultative meeting held at Hotel Novotel, the Minister in the Office of the President in charge of Science, Technology, Scientific Research and ICT, Romain Murenzi, appreciated the technology saying it was in line with Vision 2020 goals.

Kayitare told the press that the institution has set goals in terms of developing and increasing the networking capacity in all Rwandan provinces.

He pointed out that the Post Office would organise several seminars to train new employees who will operate the new network.

The Post Office chief revealed that some clients were complaining that their messages do not reach their destinations, adding that the inconsistency would be solved once the new facilities are in place.

He urged postal service employees to work hard in giving efficient and updated services to customers.
