After demolishing Barcelona in the Champions League midweek, Bayern Munich have to turn their attention back to more mundane matters: The Bundesliga. The record-breaking team from Bavaria, who already made sure of winning the championship weeks ago, were described as the best team in the world following their 4-0 semifinal first leg victory against Barcelona. On Saturday they take on a SC Freiburg side that is still harbouring ambitions of qualifying for the Champions League play-off stage.Lying just one point behind Schalke 04 in fifth place, Freiburg lost their last two matches - both against VfB Stuttgart in the cup and the league - and are desperate not to fall further behind.Meanwhile, Germany’s other Champions League semifinalist - Borussia Dortmund, who were similarly outstanding in their 4-1 victory at home against Real Madrid - can all but make sure of the runners-up place with a victory at Fortuna Dusseldorf. Polish international Robert Lewandowski, who scored all four goals for Dortmund against the Spanish giants on Wednesday and became the first player in history to score a hat-trick in European football against Real, is well en-route to winning the Bundesliga scorer charts as he leads with 23 goals from Bayer Leverkusen’s Stefan Kiessling, who has two less.
