The 2013 Kagame Cup will be held in Sudan from June 18 to July 2, the Council for East and Central African Football Association (Cecafa) has announced.Cecafa awarded Sudan the rights to host the Kagame Club Championships in June after Ethiopia, the initial host designate, wanted it to be held in September."Kindly note that we are finalising arrangements to stage the above tournament in Sudan from June.”"Because of logistical reasons, we would like to get confirmation that you will be available for the whole duration of the competition. We need this confirmation as soon as possible,” reads a statement from Cecafa to all member states. However, the championships could still be postponed if Ferwafa’s request is granted to have it moved to a later date should Rwanda’s representatives APR reach the final of the Peace Cup, which is played on July 4 to coincide with the national Liberation Day."We will write to Cecafa to request for the postponement of the tournament because we will be having the Peace Cup whose final will be played on July 4 July. If APR were to reach the final it would be impossible for them to compete in Kagame Cup and also in the Peace Cup at the same time,” Ferwafa boss, Celestin Ntagungira told this paper.Tanzanian side Young Africans are the defending champions.
