Apostle Paul Gitwaza, the head of Zion Temple, is the new head of a purpose-driven ministries Peace plan, Rwanda chapter, replacing Archbishop Emmanuel Kolini, who retired. Peace plan is the brainchild of American evangelist Rick Warren.It brings together Christian churches to promote reconciliation, equip leaders, assist the poor, care for the sick and educate the next generation in order to build a positive life, church and nation.Speaking to the media after taking office in a ceremony in Kigali, Gitwaza said his team will take care of orphans and sensitise churches to keep children from orphanages and treat them like their own.The team will also train church leaders and spread best practices from the association branches across the region."Whenever I look at South Sudan, Burundi and DR Congo, I feel like there is something we can do. Why can’t we send spiritual soldiers to heal their countries?” he said.Archbishop Kolini urged the new committee to have a team work spirit like fisher men who always work together to never upset the boat in order to attain their goals.The Minister of Local Government James Musoni appreciated Peace plan’s mission as significant in complementing government goals.He also congratulated the association as a body that gives what it has, preaching the unity as they are united in one church from different Christian churches."Churches are key players in development and when you have a better line with clear mission, we believe that the nation grows well,” Musoni said, urging Peace plan to multiply their effort in uprooting disputes within many churches which are mainly rooted in resources and individualism.
