The first thing I notice are his biceps bulging beneath his red shirt.

Frank Rukundo, commonly known as Franky Joe, is not only an artist and student at the National University of Rwanda but also a model.

People often presume the beautiful opt for a modeling career for want of something better to do. This is clearly not the case with Franky Joe. He says he loves what he is does; he is not embarrassed about it and has a passion for it.

Moreover the model, who works with Dad Max Modeling Agency, sees himself becoming rich in the near future, thanks to his modeling career.

Franky explains that a lot of people have it all wrong about male models.

"At one time a man walked up to me and asked me out thinking I am gay. I told the gentleman being a model does not mean I am gay and that I am a straight guy with a girlfriend,” says Franky.

"Believe me this is interesting work even though the industry is still young here in Rwanda,” says Joe who has been modeling for three years.

His role models are Tyson Beckford, Tyrese Gibson. "These are the guys who inspired me.”
