The most classic, feminine, lovely colour is back with a punch. This season, dress in the boldest shade – instantly looking pretty in pink. 

Whether you’re a "girlie girl” and pink is a closet staple, or you’re a more boho dresser – pink is the colour of the season. But the important part is not to make it too soft; it’s all about the bright pinks, and wearing it in solid, eye-catching blocks. 

Without a doubt, designers are bringing this beautiful hue into their collections. Valentino, the fashion line founded by fashion legend Valentino Garavani, crafted multiple bright pink ensembles in the collection. First, an all over lace high-neck, sleeveless shift dress. The back has a full-length key hole, with a vertical row of signature Valentino bows. Additionally, the collection has a vibrant pink guipure dress with a v-neck and mini sleeves. The dress adds fun and flirty with its mild peplum at the hem. American designer Donna Karan, the mind behind the more affordable label DKNY, crafted a form-fitting, banded silhouette knee-length dress with criss-crossing pieces to accent the female form. She adds flair with asymmetrical cap sleeves. Renowned for evening wear, Dominican Repulic’s Oscar de la Renta crafted a daytime piece: tapered silhouette with rounded neck and cap sleeves. He calls the shade of the ensemble, "Shocking Pink” to give it that Oscar de la Renta pull. 

The famous are wearing this trend strongly, mostly during cocktail hour events. American actress Emma Stone, known most recently for her role as the dame in The Amazing Spider-Man, wore a beautiful pink Valentino chiffon dress with a white collar and cuffs. She paired with pointy hound’s-tooth pumps and a black clutch. Allison Williams, a leading role in one of the most publicized TV shows Girls written by Lena Dunham, wore a bright Oscar de la Renta dress with sleeveless lace top and pink satin high-wasited pencil skirt. January Jones, transported back to the 1960’s in AMC’s Mad Men, wrote a bright pink silk loose fitting mini with long sleeves and a collar. She paired brilliantly with ankle strap golden shoes and a matching golden clutch. Christina Ricci took the look Marilyn Monroe, with a v-neck halter and flirty skirt.

The key to staying on trend is to wear the bright, bold pinks – stay away from the softer pastels and florals. It’s also great to keep the jewelry simple, as the dress does most of the talking. Also looks beautiful paired with metallics: silver or gold shoes.
