This has been building up for a while — it’s not one thing that brought it to mind, but … you just have to let things out eventually. Here’s the thing, these youth who louse around in their parents’ homes need to get a job.
This has been building up for a while — it’s not one thing that brought it to mind, but … you just have to let things out eventually. Here’s the thing, these youth who louse around in their parents’ homes need to get a job.I have no kind words for a woman or man, way past their teenage years sitting at home, wasting away the precious years of their prime doing nothing. It is amazing to see young Dennis Muganza of the Dark Matter Entertainment saving up his pocket money during his school years to start a record label. While a 23 year old sits day in, day out looking pretty, waiting for the right man to come along to marry her off, 18 year old Dennis is now the CEO of the up and coming label.Meanwhile the 23 year old is doing more sitting only in a different house. Those, people with no ambition make me sick.Of course, there are the usual complaints of nepotism and corruption and what not, all that garbage they spurn when they want to blame their woes on someone else. For those ones, I have a few pointers, one, have you been reading the news lately? Entrepreneurs are the way forward for this country, actually for any country. In Uganda every year, there is an influx of about 400,000 fresh graduates from a single university. For those four hundred, only 8000 jobs are available readily. We see, 400,000 people competing for 8000 jobs and it is basically a stampede. So to the people who want cushy fat white collar jobs, I have a parable for you. For gold to get its gleam, it has to pass through fire. So, for you to be comfortable in life, struggle for it.For those who sit and wait for someone to discover their talent, not wanting to take serious jobs because it will, and I quote "Kill their talent” I say, "Shame upon you.” I am not asking you to abandon your talent, I am just asking that you do something while you wait for Jay Z or Steve Jean, heck even Washington to knock on your door.So … if this is going to take 15 to 20 years of unrelenting effort anyway, why not have a stable, safe indoors office job that pays reliably for all that time? Get a stable career-oriented job. Who cares if it has nothing to do with music or acting or whatever it is your talent is, as long as you still have an instrument and free time in which to use it? I agree with the person who said that money does not buy happiness but it surely makes misery comfortable.
