The US government has offered US$5 million for information leading to the arrest, transfer and conviction of Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR) supreme commander, Sylvestre Mudacumura.

US Ambassador-at-Large for Global Criminal Justice Stephen J. Rapp announced this on Thursday during a tele-press conference.

Mudacumura is wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) on charges of crimes against humanity and war crimes, including murder, rape, torture and attacking civilians.

He is the overall commander of the FDLR, a DRC-based militia group largely blamed for the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

Mudacumura’s name was added on the list of the most wanted fugitives, which also features several key architects of the Genocide, including Felicien Kabuga, Protais Mpiranya and Augustin Bizimana.

Uganda’s warlord Joseph Kony, leader of the notorious Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), is also on the list.
