Pastor Emmanuel Gatera is affiliated to the Anglican Church of Rwanda. He prays and leads the English services at Kacyiru Anglican church located below the American Embassy in Kacyiru. "I wake up early, at 4.00am to pray with my wife. Four is an hour that we have established for prayer. We pray for many things, health and the well being of our loved ones, the security of our country and so forth.” the 55-year-old pastor says. He has a wife, Mukarutesi Athanasie and four children and after he finishes praying, they all meet in the living room to discuss how their day is going to be. "It is essential to be in touch with all of them - even those abroad call at that time.”"After that we all set off to our different destinations. I go to the office in Kimironko and study. I am doing a doctorate in Trauma Counseling in Edmonton, Canada,” he says.In the evenings, the family meets for their fellowship to pray and discuss the failings and achievements of the day. "I love the entire routine. It helps strengthen my family and it’s a spiritual life.”
