Editor,This is in reaction to the story, "City furniture dealers lose millions, thanks to power blackout”, (The New Times, March 22).Does the Energy, Water and Sanitation Authority (EWSA) have a performance contract (Imihigo)? In other countries, commercial power contracts are signed alongside a guarantee of delivery. Failure to deliver carries penalties. This keeps the power companies very focused on customer service. Electricity is vital and should be prioritised.  Hence, it is unacceptable that a power line can be vandalised and nobody is held accountable.Rashid Swaleh New York, USA
