Imbuto Foundation pumps Rwf97m in Peace Cup

IMBUTO FOUNDATION has injected Rwf97m into this year’s Peace Cup football tournament, which will be renamed “Peace Cup against Malaria,” Sunday Sport has learnt.

We would like to thank them for their contribution in the development of sports in the country, particularly football.”He added: "We have a good budget for this year’s competition to facilitate the participating teams and organizing a better tournament. We hope this commitment from Imbuto will help to raise the level of the competition.”.The proposed prize for the winner is Rwf10m, Rwf7m for the first runners-up, third place winner will walk away with Rwf5m, while the team that finishes fourth will get Rwf3m.The reigning champions APR will play against Kirehe in the last 16 round. MTN Rwanda has been sponsoring the competition to a tune of Rwf51.4m per year since 2009.Last year, Imbuto Foundation also sponsored a volleyball tournament to a tune of RWf17m and sunk Rwf11.5 million into a Karate tournament to fight malaria.
