Holidays are near and there is plenty to do. Do not just sit around doing nothing. Here are some ideas to get you through the holiday.Help with the choresDo not wait for the maid to do everything for you. Clean some windows or dust the house, lay your bed or clean the compound. A little help is always appreciated.Do your homeworkIt’s important to finish any school assignments given to you before doing anything else. It’s okay to ask for help if you don’t understand something. However, do not ask your older siblings or neighbour to do your work for you. PlayAll work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Play is good for you. Go out and run around – enjoy nature or play hide and seek…play interesting and mind opening board games like Scrabble or Chess. Visit relativesDo you have relatives you haven’t visited in a while? The holiday is a great time to catch up with them…see how they’ve been doing and tell them all about school.Read for funReading shouldn’t just be in school. Ask your parents or guardian to take you to a book store and pick out a book to read for fun. Read a chapter every day. Get enough restTV is great but too much of it will leave you fatigued. Try to go to bed at a decent hour.
