Rwanda’s sole professional golfer Emmanuel Ruterana yesterday disclosed the reason for his recent slump in form.
Ruterana, 24 disclosed to Times Sport that his change in swing has been the cause for his torrid run this year.
"Early this year, I realized that I had to change my swing to have a better game in future. Normally, the drill is that your game tends to drop during this phase, which is exactly what has been happening to me,” the BCR-sponsored golfer said.
He added, "It has caused me a lot of frustrations over the last couple of months but I think I’m starting to get my line correct”.
The former caddie, who left for Kampala yesterday, will continue perfecting his new swing when he takes part in Uganda’s MTN monthly mug.
The two-day event that tees-off tomorrow will be staged at Kampala’s 72-par Kitante golf course. Like in all previous tournaments, Ruterana who has not won an honor since last year’s Rwanda Open tournament has identified Déo Akope as his major threat.
