Law enforcement officers on Wednesday, July 12, arrested four teachers of Sainte Trinité de Nyanza TVET school, in Nyanza district, over an illegal abortion-related case.

According to RIB spokesperson Thierry Murangira, the suspects are linked to a case in which a 21-year-old student, whose names are not revealed, allegedly tried to abort. The incident took place in Nyanza District, Kigoma sector, he said, also noting that the suspects include three teachers and the deputy head teacher in charge of discipline.
Murangira said the teachers were arrested at the home of one of their colleagues where the student was found, after taking abortion drugs.
