Mutuyimana scored 28 runs and Reddy added 25 runs and took three wickets for 28 runs to seal the victory for the more experienced Challengers.Victory CC started the chase slowly but picked up momentum after 12 overs, U-19 national team players Christian Mwijanda and Don De Dieu Mugisha took on Challengers bowlers by playing sweetly-timed shots. The game was evenly poised until they were together in the crease, with Mwijanda fighting on until the end.He scored a valiant 37 runs which included three sixes. Victory needed 14 runs in their last over, but could only score three hence losing the match by 10 runs.Meanwhile, Indorwa won their tightly fought game against Dugout in the day’s second fixture.Indorwa batted first but they lost their wickets in regular intervals due to tight bowling by the Dugout bowlers. They were bundled out for a paltry 101 runs in 20 overs. Indorwa’s captain Mihir Solanki was the top scorer with 22 runs.Dugout commenced their chase lightly as the target set by Indorwa was not big taking into account their batting strength; Dugout batsmen looked out of touch and were rusty through the innings.Indorwa crawled back to defend a small total; their bowler’s bowled wicket to wicket line and made it difficult for the Dugout batsmen to score runs freely.Indorwa bowler Eric Hirwa Dusabemungu was their main tormentor as he took three valuable wickets and was ably supported by Solanki, who took two wickets. The game was on until the last over as Dugout needed 11 runs from six balls. However, they could manage to score only nine runs and were bowled out for 101 runs in 19.4 overs. Dugout and Indorwa have two more matches to play in their group.
