EASTERN PROVINCE

NGOMA — Thousands of Christians from across the country started flocking Baptist Church in Ngoma District Eastern Province for a one-week crusade organised by an Association of Faithful Prayers.

The joint fellowship which is aimed at examining the role of church in the development of the country brings together about ten churches of different denominations including Vivante, Baptist, Restoration, ADEPR and Assemblies of God among others.

The crusade is also geared at reviving the image of the church according to organizers. As part of the event the members on Sunday started a week of fasting alongside the prayers that start in the morning till sunset.

The crusade has also attracted Christians from Uganda and Burundi. Their sermons, Church leaders who include pastors from Burundi and Rwanda urge the flock to seek God’s help in seeing themselves as being responsible in the development of the country.

The theme of the crusade which is an extraction from the bible is, ‘All the skilled workers among you are to come and make everything that the Lord commanded.’
