Kenya’s Hip-hop artiste, Nonini is the most popular East African musician on Facebook, a new survey has revealed.The Facebook survey, titled East Africa’s Top 50 Artistes, and conducted by HiPipo 5Star, monitored more than 150 East African musicians’ pages for four months.The report shows that Nonini’s official page has the biggest number of fans, with 91,650 Likes, followed by Wahu (Kenya) with about 83,356 and Jua Kali Genge (Kenya) came third with 80,224 Likes.Uganda’s most followed musician on Facebook is Bebe Cool and he came fourth in East Africa with a total of over 71,564 Likes. Other Ugandans who made it to the top 50 are Julianna Kanyomozi in 7th place; Navio, 14th and Desire Luzinda in 20th positions.Apollo Kagimu was 23rd, Jose Chameleone 25th, Grace Nakimera 32nd, Nick Nola 34th and Maurice Kirya 37th positions. Keko was in the 45th, Bobi Wine in 47th and GNL Zamba in 48th position.Bebe Cool said that that shows who rules."I have always told them [artistes] I am very big and they were not accepting now things are in print and I am still taking them to the walls,” said Bebe Cool.Most musicians who do not frequently check their accounts blamed those they assigned to update them. No Rwandan artiste made it to the list.Overall, all the top 50 East African artistes on Facebook were followed by a collective figure of over 1,710,630 people as of March 5, 2013. Nonini becomes that first official No.1 Top Artiste on Facebook, in East Africa.
