RWANDA Amateur Boxing Association [Raba] has taken the route of spotting and nurturing young talent as away of preparing for 2016 Olympic Games, which will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.Raba Technical Director Gashugi Kananura told Times Sport yesterday. "We are holding a two-day talent search tournament at Amahoro stadium for boxers aged between 8 to 16 years to identify best players, who can be given maximum attention for further development.”"The main target is to have a fine and strong team that can compete in the qualifiers for the next Olympic Games or even be able to compete in the Games,” added the veteran trainer.Last year’s London Olympic Games was already a lost cause weeks before the showpiece as last minute preparations and incompetency in the boxing federation, meant that boxers Jean Maurice Bikorimana, Rwanda’s first recognised female pugilist Pascaline Mugabekazi all missed out on qualification.
