But he has recalled the defensive pair of Kalisa Mao from TP Mazembe and Edwin Ouon of AEL Limassol in his squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifier against Mali.The wasps will host the Eagles of Mali in a Group H match of the 2014 Brazil World Cup qualifier at Amahoro stadium on March 24.Ahead of the crucial and decisive tie, the 43-year-old Micho unveiled a 24-man squad yesterday that includes Kalisa and Edwin, who had been regular omissions in Amavubi team of recent.Edwin, who will be making his debut in Micho’s team, last featured for Amavubi in 2009 during the 2010 World Cup qualifiers. He played in the 1-3 loss to Algeria in October, 2009 away in Blida and in the 0-1 loss to Egypt in Kigali on May 5, 2009, all in the third round qualification matches.Kalisa, who formerly played for Rayon Sport, APR, DC Motema Pembe, was last summoned by Micho during the preliminary round matches against Eritrea which Rwanda won 4-2 aggregates to book a place in the group stages in November 2011.There was also a big change in the squad as local players had tough time making it on the final squad, which could be attributed to the low competitiveness nature of the local league.APR midfielder Mugiraneza was the major culprit as he was dropped on poor fitness grounds, while Barnabe Mubumbyi and defensive pair of Emery Bayisenge and Michel Rusheshangonga were also left out as they are nursing injuries.Karekezi retains captainshipTunisia’s AC Bizertin forward Olivier Karekezi, leads the team as captain. The Serb will assess the ability of every player in next week’s international friendly match against Libya, who will pitch camp in Kigali en-route to neighbouring DR Congo for a World Cup qualifier against the hosts.Micho believes a victory against Mali will leave the team with a fighting chance of sneaking through to the next round although he admits that it is very difficult because it needs Rwanda to win her remaining three qualifiers.Amavubi are currently placed bottom in Group H of the World Cup qualifiers with one point from two matches.
