Clean the entire sink area with an all-purpose cleaner that does not contain ammonia or bleach. These types of ingredients can ruin the finish of your kitchen sink. Also, be careful not to use an abrasive sponge.Rinse and wipe the sink dry with a soft towel. This also removes any remaining dirt particles that you may have missed when you rinsed the sink.Wet the entire sink area and sprinkle baking soda on the sink. Work the baking soda into a paste and rinse.Scrub the rim of the caulk seal around the sink with a soft-bristle toothbrush and baking soda paste.Scrub the entrance of the drain with a toothbrush and baking soda. If you have the flaps over the drain that come with the garbage disposal, make sure to scrub the underside. Rinse and wipe this area with a soft towel, repeating until the towel has no further residue.Soak enough paper towels to cover the sink area with vinegar and allow the paper towels to sit on the sink for 20 minutes.Saturate a nylon sponge in soapy water and clean the entire sink area and rinse.Pour 1/2 cup of baking soda down your drain, if you have a garbage disposal, then 1/2 cup of vinegar. This mixture creates fizz and cleanses the interior of the disposal.Boil water while the baking soda/vinegar mixture is working in the garbage disposal and pour down the drain once it has come to a boil.Pour 2 cups of ice down the drain followed by 1 cup of rock salt.Turn on the garbage disposal and run cold water until the ice melts away. The mixture of salt and ice loosens up the remaining debris and grime.Cut a lime or lemon in half and add to the garbage disposal while the water is running. Make sure to allow each piece to go down individually. This step not only cleans the garbage disposal, it also creates a fresh scent.Wipe the handles and faucets with a mild soap solution, using a toothbrush in areas that are hard to reach.Soak a cloth in white vinegar and let it sit on handles and faucets if spots remain.Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry with a soft towel.
