Editor,Is it the curriculum developers who are to blame? In schools, Kinyarwanda is taught for the sake of passing onto the next level of schooling and not mastering it. Meanwhile, strategies for promoting it through plays, drama and writing competitions don’t exist.If this language is to be protected from extinction, then it has to be promoted, especially through performing arts, Rwandan cultural music, and film, among others.Andrew.
