Following Jenifer Lawrence‘s recent trip at 2013 Oscars while collecting her Best Actress Oscar for her role in Silver Linings Playbook, I was intrigued by her and decided to watch the movie ‘The Hunger games’. The 2012 American science fiction film was directed by Gary Ros and is based on the Suzanne Collins‘s novel which goes by the same name. It stars some of Hollywood’s best such as Donald Sutherland, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks and many others. The movie portrays how powerful wealthy capitals mistreat poor regions. In the post-apocalyptic nation of Panem, boys and girls between the ages of 12-18 were selected as ‘tributes’ for The Hunger Games to fight to the death where the last person standing would be rewarded with fame and wealth. Each district paraded one boy and one girl. In the scary forest were survival skills were put to the test, the winner had to survive against all odds. It is a very edgy movie with violence not fit for anyone under 18! However, it is worth the watch.
