THE CULTURE of reading till now has not really been that good. We should know that it is our responsibility the youths to uplift this culture since we are the future RwandansReading should start direct from home. So our parents much as you expect the teachers to help us with this, you should be our first teachers to mould us into it as they say ‘charity begins at home’. There are a lot of works that one can read: short and simple storybooks, news papers, magazines or even the Bible. Some students are just lazy and do not want to bother themselves with reading. But they forget one thing; they keep themselves away from knowledge.  Let us not fulfill the common saying that if you want to hide information from an African, put it in writing.Through reading we shall get to know current affairs both in and out the country, History, gossip and much entertainment around the world which breaks the boredom. Though reading we shall also learn to compose our own writings. I therefore encourage my fellow students and youths to adapt the culture of reading for it is even not too late to mend.Izabayo RosineS.2 Kigali Christian School
