APR women volleyball club has started preparations ahead of the Africa Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) women’s club championships, which will be held in Madagascar from April 4 to 14.The league champions have bolstered their team with new signings, including Denise Mutatsimpundu from Ruhango Volleyball Club on a three-year contract.The 19-year-old, who was part of Rwanda’s junior beach team that was impressive in the Africa Junior Beach Volleyball Championship last year, will be joined by Pascaline Mukashyaka and Lorette Igiro from Rwamagana Volleyball Club.Head coach Viateur ‘Lado’ Sibomana believes his team will do a good job in the continental championships."I have a strong team, with a mixture of youth and experienced players and I have high hopes in them to do a good job in Madagascar,” he said.As part of their preparations, former Umubano Blues Tigers skipper confirmed that APR plan to play build-up matches against local rivals, but the game not yet confirmed.APR will represent Rwanda in next year’s CAVB Africa Women Club Championship after edging out Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) to win this year’s national volleyball league.
