Gasabo District donated a laptop to each of its 12 schools that performed well in last year’s primary and secondary school national examinations.Primary schools in the district such as Saint Ignace, Bright Light, Kigali Parents, Good Foundation, Sparrow, L’horizon, La Fontaine, Source du Savoir, ECK and secondary schools that include Nu-vision High School, Petit SeminaireNdera and G.S Musave were recognized as the best performers.The mayor, Willy Ndizeye, said the donation of laptops was to thank and motivate the well-performing schools and encourage their hard work."You deserve a motivation of what you did. We greatly thank you and appreciate your performance in education,” he said.A teacher representative of La Fontaine, StanislasHabiyambere, told The Sunday Times that the secret behind good performance is that they always work hand-in-hand with students, parents, and teachers."Every student is bright when treated well,” he said. "There is no magic to perform better, but the secret behind this success is to be in touch with students and their parents, working as a team and motivation to our teachers.”
